About PIEAS
PIEAS was founded in 1967 as Reactor School in response to increasing manpower demand of PAEC. The institute gained university status in 2000 and its name was changed to “Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS)”. PIEAS has been ranked as No. 1 engineering university of Pakistan in the QS Asian Rankings 2014, 2015 and 2019.

Professor Nahrul Khair bin Alang Md. Rashid
is esteemed and renowned nuclear engineer. He got Ph.D. degree from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA in 1992. Since 2016, he is serving as professor of nuclear engineering in Department of Energy Engineering, UTM Johor, Malaysia. He has also served as Deputy Director General (Research & Technology Development) in Malaysian Nuclear Agency, Bangi, Selangor D.E. from May 1995 – October 2008.
Professor Rafiziana Md. Kasmani
is Head of Energy and Engineering Department of UTM, Malaysia. She got Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering from University of Leeds, UK in 2009. She has numerous publications in the field of Nuclear Science and Technology.
Professor Sang Hyun Park
is organic and medicinal chemist. He got Ph.D. degree from chemistry department, Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ, USA in 1996. Since 2001, he has been working for Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute as a principal investigator, and in 2009 he Joined University of Science and Technology as a professor.
Professor Woosung Choi
is Head of Bio-business Division and Director of Bio-Cluster Strategy & Planning. He got Ph.D. degree in Physiology from University of British Columbia, Canada in 2006. He has also served as Principal Researcher in Laboratory Animal Center, DGMIF, Daegu, South Korea from 2012-2015 and at Laboratory Animal Center, KBIO, Osong, South Korea from 2015-2019.

Dr. Waseem Siddique
Assistant Professor
PhD in Energy Technology from Royal Institute of Technology [KTH], Sweden. Have interest in the field of Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Reactor Thermal Hydraulics, Sustainable Energy.
Dr. Amjad Farooq
Associate Professor
PhD in Nuclear & Environmental Engineering from PIEAS, Islamabad. Have interest in the field of Filtration of radioactive/toxic air/water, Impregnation of activated carbons, Testing of raw and impregnated activated carbons, Development of standard testing setups for activated carbons.
Mr. Awais Zahur
Lecturer
MS Nuclear Engineering from PIEAS, have interest in the fields of Radiation Shielding and Parameter Optimization using Computational Intelligence.
Mr. Muhammad Rizwan Ali
Lecturer
MS Nuclear Engineering from PIEAS. Research Interests are Atmospheric Dispersion, Numerical Weather Prediction, Climate Change and Climate Modeling.
